Special ground mobile robots can be instead of people and perform tasks,so they get moreand more attention in dangerous and unexpected circumstances. Most of existing robots aredesigned and developed for specific applications and tasks. In order to respond to a variety ofunexpected task, Lead to the emergence of a large number of basic form identical or similarspecial ground mobile robots. Resulting in a huge waste of resources on the technical.The solution of the problem is to make the module design method and the mobile robottechnology combined and develop modular mobile robot. Modular study of the mobile robot cannot only significantly save development costs and time and create convenient conditions for theupdates and feature upgrades of equipment.This project is to make the special ground mobile robots as the research object and domodular research. Modular decomposition from a functional point of view on a mobile robot, atthe same time take embedded control technology and the wireless network communicationtechnology into modular research, I can do the hardware design and software design the functionmodules. The main research content is as follows1This article targets at three types of special ground mobile robots such like Anti-terrorismrobot, removal of danger robot and investigation robot, and takes the modular design methodinto these robots, I choose the dividing method of function module from function. According tothe three-stream Principle, this paper analysised functionally on three types of mobile robots,established function structure and found out functional structure shared between the mobile robot.Finally the modules were divided according to functional structure shared.2.The hardware design of functional modules. Using chip based on Zigbee technology asthe main control processing chip, the hardware design of Micro-controller module is based on it.Micro-controller module was an important part of the design of all functional modules, At thesame time, energy power, information processing, data communication functions are allintegrated into the modules in the design process. Finally, the hardware design of the motordrive module, tachometer module, acceleration module, temperature and humidity module,infrared human induction module and human-computer interaction module are completed. It canImprove the independence between them and realizing the full embedded intelligent module.3. The paper made program design for functional modules and achieved their uniquefeatures. It Introduces Zigbee protocol stack architecture and takes Zigbee functionality intoprograms written for functional modules, the wireless communication between the modules wasachieved. At the same time communication protocols was standardized.4. Completed the relevant test of the functional module through the experiment, the test willshow the status of the network operation and the work status of functional modules.
