With the popularity of Internet applications, more and more complex structure, andthe growing demand for network analysis, how to effectively network management hasbecome key network uptime. The traditional way of network management (SNMP) cannot meet the users’ requirements of quality of service (Qos) increasingly need newtechnology to meet the higher demands on the user traffic statistics. NetStream as a newkind of network traffic statistical analysis techniques, can provide reliable networkservices in a complex network environment. Compared with the traditional technique,NetStream has more excellent performance and prospects.Starting from an actual development project, This topic in-depth study the NetStreamstream data generation, output, statistics aspects, improved the statistical packet outputand output flow control, and design and implementation of a Linux-based platformNetStream traffic statistics system.This article firstly study the NetStream technology,including its application background, the basic concept, and its working principle andstatistical message format. Secondly, in terms of system design, according to the softwareengineering approach, the system needs analysis, system peripherals operatingenvironment, and refinement of the ordinary flow of statistical processing and output flowaggregation processing and output, template management, output flow control needs.Subsequently in terms of the system realization, based on the distributed architecture ofthe router software system design, including module division, thread and process designand important data structure definitions, and detailed description of the flow statisticsprocessing, configuration, data processing, system event handling process and its design,and other main function modules to draw specific implementation timing diagram.Finally, a introduction to the the NetStream System test the network environment, thetest content and test tools. NetStream function deployment in the network core layer routercan achieve flow active core, aggregation and access three-tier network architecture LANand WAN traffic analysis, the system proved better real-time, security and stability, networkmanagement personnel to meet the real-time traffic analysis, analysis of the statistics andstatements, and other day-to-day operation and maintenance needs.
