Design And Implementation Of GSM-R Network Testing System

GSM-R system is a wireless technology based on GSM Phase2+. The GSM-Rsystem is dedicated to railway scheduling, so it is critical to the security of the trainssystem. It’s necessary to measure the field strength coverage and check the quality ofservice regularly. Portable GSM-R network testing system is needed badly.To solve this problem, this thesis implements a GSM-R network testing system. Thesystem consists of testing software which is written by C#, GSM-R mobile, globalpositioning system terminal (GPS) and so on. This thesis focuses on the design of the fieldstrength coverage test, the QoS of voice service test and the QoS of train controlling datatransmission service test. The composition and the process of the system are described inthis thesis. Then the details of the GPS positioning module, serial port operation module,data analysis and statistical analysis module, data report generation module, data storagemodule, and playback module are introduced.After being used on a period of operational railway, it is confirmed that the testingsystem meets the expected function design goals. The testing system can obtain dataautomatically and the playback capability of the system is correct. Moreover the testingdata is compared with the existing research results of others. The result shows that the datais correct.
