Recently, with the rapid development of both Internet and space informationtechnology, space-based internet technology that is combined with both above becomesmore and more important in the future. Furthermore, the goal of setting up network whichcan transfer information in space can be accomplished, which is also the goal ofcommunication system in the future. However, because of the complexity and diversityof satellite system’s movement, routing protocol that works on the space-based internetneeds to be more effective. This paper is based on the research that reach of dynamicanalysis of satellite’s topology, then presents the adaptive routing protocol, furthermore, this paper makes analysis on and simulate the routing protocol.Through the analysis on the three kinds of structures of satellite constellation, firstlythis paper determines that the constellation is consisted of LEO/MEO satellites, andverifies the communication performance (such as coverage, access, and so on) of it.Furthermore concludes the topology dynamics of the constellation, depending on theinformation of constellation and presenting the indicators of it, such as periodicity, permanent ISLs and so on. Then the snapshot of the topology is calculated throughsatellite information and routing mechanisms based on the method of Virtual Topology.Depending on the topology dynamics of the constellation, the adaptive routing protocol isdefined, which can match the demands for communications and improve the performanceof space network, such as efficiency, robustness and so on. Through the adaptive routingprotocol, the efficiency of space network is optimized. At last, by using NS-2, theadaptive routing protocol is realized, the results of the experiment prove that the protocolis feasible.
