As wireless local area network technology growing in everyday life, financial andmilitary field, people’s hope on the wireless network security are increasingly highrequirements. The latest safety standards IEEE802.11series launched in2004IEEE802.11i standard, which specifications from the encryption and decryption, authentication and other detailed technical requirements of the wireless network security.Current wireless network authentication technology widely used methods based on EAPand RADIUS authentication protocol authentication mechanism.Because RADIUS authentication mechanism is usually caused by the requester, theauthenticator and the authentication server component, for wireless networks composedby the sewage treatment equipment, it is not very suitable. If you want to use RADIUSauthentication mechanism you need additional authentication server, not only increasesdifficulty, and does not apply to its wireless network. Therefore, this paper presents asimplified authentication protocol, which does not affect the function of authenticationwithout authentication server, making it more suitable for sewage treatment equipment’swireless network authentication. The design is mainly based on IEEE802.11standards and EAPOL authenticationprotocol and4-way-handshake protocol. After the simulation, the improvedauthentication protocol is proved to be a good for sewage treatment equipment’swireless networking. After the simulation, the authentication time is about1.2seconds,the success rate of over99%can be achieved, thereby the improving authenticationprotocol can be well applicable to the sewage treatment equipment’s wireless net.
