Wireless ad hoc network has an advantage in the next generation of wirelesscommunication systems because of rapid deployment between mobile devices.Wireless ad hoc network has been widely used in various areas, includingemergency search missions, disaster relief efforts, battlefield military operations, conferences, etc. In most cases, a wireless ad hoc network design issues, speciallyprotocol design issues are inherently related to the ad hoc applications. In otherwords, traffic decides network. This thesis aims to find the best networkconfiguration for the report and control traffic, which is common used in commandsystem, with a stabile network capacity in traffic.Capacity steady which is measured with different parameters in differentnetwork layer is a significant issue in wireless ad hoc network. Measuringparameter in the link layer is throughput and in the application layer is delivery ratewhich is also used in Quality of Service (QoS). Among lots of affluence factors ofnetwork performance, wireless routing protocol holds the balance and it must not beaffected by a series of external factors when selecting configuration. So the study inoptimized configuring a wireless ad hoc network with control and report trafficfocuses on route choices. This thesis compares performances of AODV (stands foron demand route), OLSR (stands for proaction route) and TORA (stands for hybridroute) in different scenarios.Through the contrastive analysis of simulation data, this thesis explores thenetwork performance of different routings in different network scales with differentnodes motion states. All the simulations are extensively conducted using OpnetModeler14.5simulator that is a platform based on Windows. Node mobility model, wireless environment model and traffic model are set up for simulation and test. Thesimulation results show that all route works well in a small size network andperformance poor in large ones. The speed of nodes in the network influence TORAa lot. However, AODV and OLSR show steady performances in various motilities. Finally optimal configuration selections in all scenarios are achieved.
