The scanner is an integral electro-optical equipment to transform the analog images intodigital images. Now it has been widely used in many areas, such as publishing, printing,advertising, graphic communications. However, in the field of textile industry, the size of textilesis always large, and the most ordinary wide-width scanners and their supporting software areunable to meet the special requirements of scanning the large textiles of the weaving industry.Therefore, the Ultra-wide scanner must be used to accomplish the mission of scanning fabricimages. The number of the ultra wide scanner is relatively small in the domestic market, and itsbundled software is also relatively scarce. Under the background of the market, the design hasdeveloped a Ultra-wide scanner which could solve the scanning problem of textile well. Todevelop the bundled software for the Ultra-wide scanner is the purpose of this subject.This software system was programmed with the visual programming tool Delphi. The fabricstatic image was transferred from the Ultra-wide scanner into the application by writing standardinterface program which following TWAIN protocol. And then, image de-noising, graypretreatment and other image preprocessing techniques were used to the acquired image. On thisbasis, coordinate transformation and gray interpolation method were used to correct the imagegeometric distortion which was produced in the process of capturing images with the ultra widescanner Finally, a series of digital image processing and recognition techniques, such as Houghtransform, binarization processing, Sobel operator, were used to realize the Fabric image edgedetection and the quality control of textile products. In addition, in order to improve theapplicability of the software system, the image local amplification, image rotation, formatconversion and other image viewer functions were added, as well some image editing tools, suchas image free cutting, brush and eraser.In preliminary experiments, the practical running results shows the good effect, the fabricimage can be quickly obtained from ultra wide scanners under the protection of TWAINprotocols, and the fabric defect information can be showed accurately, combined with otherfunction modules designs, it also provides a convenient visual interface to facilitate the technicalpersonnel in keeping real time supervision of product quality problems and editing the fabricimage through the related design. The Scan detecting technology has broad prospect, but thecurrent domestic market of Ultra-wide image scanner is not yet mature, the research of the key technology about fabric detection is still in its infancy and the level of automatic detectiontechnology needs to be improved further.
