The distortion correction technology of digital image processing has become a hotspot of research, as the applications of digital image processing extend continuously. But main researches of distortion correction technology were concentrated of the technique's researches on the arithmetic and software. These methods always apply in the PC platform so they cannot be put into practice effectively.A new concept concerning fast image distortion correction technology based on DSP is put forward in this paper, a concept focusing on new situation of development of DSP (Digital Signal processing) and concluded by research and analysis to existing distortion correction algorithm.This theory combines with the up-to-date digital signal processing technology, makes some analysis, optimization and improvement to existing algorithm according to the specific system features. Thus such an algorithm with characteristics of innovation, practicability and speediness has formed.A high-speed distortion correction technology of digital image processing is given as the hardware platform for algorithm implementing and testing. Active efforts have been made in this project in terms of structure, design, simulation, transplantation and optimization, so as to accomplish this algorithm on the DSP of TI C6711 in the end. The whole theory and methods to accomplish this algorithm are all presented in this paper.Experimental results and testing data have showed that the algorithm presented in this project can accomplish distortion correction of digital image (512×512) and achieved the expected goal, a high level of effectiveness, speed and reliability.
