In new audience environment and media environment, people’s aesthetic concept, information receiving habits have changed,more portable mobile terminals and the ubiquitous wireless network provides more justification for people out of newsprint. If newspaper wants to survive, it must actively adapt to modern readers, improve the presentation of information and produce qualitative breakthrough in design thinking and ideas. In recent years, some newspapers have carried on reform to break the traditional mode, using every possible means to increase readability and pleasure reading. So domestic newspaper design has entered into a new stage of development, namely "design drive newspaper". Since then, paper has changed greatly from content to form. It lays more emphasis on how to promote newspaper pleasure reading and legibility, embodying the "hierarchy" and "new visual design trends.Newspaper hierarchy refers to different information levels according to important degree of the day’s information and. It goes deeper step by step, constantly expands.It can play an effective tips, guide and help readers to read. Hierarchy follows the way of hyperlink network, break news text up and form a new information architecture by the forms of "hyperlinks". In a newspaper, respective hierarchy structure can be formed in the cover and inside pages/layout internal/article on three levels, respectively, with each level relatively independent. Newspaper hierarchy, in numbers it is a pyramid, while on the importance and key is an inverted pyramid structure, diminishing in importance. Hierarchy has changed the traditional newspaper’s page, detail and linear pattern of reading word by word into stereo, vertical reading, showing the respect for modern readers.Newspaper new visualization refers to the design based on understanding the news content, the basis of the stress under the premise of accurate and complete expression of news content, the pursuit of "visualization" interface, giving readers new perspectives and newspaper reading experience. New visual design naturally put the text content into the layout design with visualization, graphical news through words, modelling method, grouping the whole legal and synergies with the content of the page layout arrangement means such as news content of brilliant, rather than mechanically stacked articles and pictures, simply the pursuit of more and larger images, and the blind pursuit of visual impact. This design bids farewell to the old concept of "Typesetting", and makes full use of the newspaper layout art and news choreography.Hierarchy and new visualization seem to be irrelevant, but they have close inner link. They are a whole idea, which belong to the topic of information presentation. They are two aspects of newspaper information presentation and interact and supplement each other. Hierarchical content arrangement will give visual layout more space, while designing layout with visual thinking can serve the information hierarchy to provides more choices for information hierarchy. Newspaper hierarchy is for text, content plane, while visualization is for format, layout, forms of level. So they just fit the dual function of modern newspaper "news designer".Newspaper hierarchy and new visualization are a positive change that newspapers use their own advantages to make, this is a good way to breakout from the digital transition.
