The Development Of Remote Updating System Based On ISP/IAP And CAN-bus

The remote updating system based on ISP/IAP and CAN bus is developed in theproject of tidal current energy generation, for the control system is complicated andgroup operating status monitor with power generator is installed underwater where isharsh and data communicating is interfered by electrical transmission. This systemconsists of a shore station host computer, master controller and the updated systems.The host computer transmits the HEX file to the master controller via optical fiber andCAN bus, and then the master controller update the updated system by the way of ISPor IAP.In this paper, the main work is as followed:(1)Hardware DesignThe multi-processor updating system using STM32F207having Cortex-M3asmaster chip is developed and is taken modular design. The hardware modular includeswatchdog module, optical-CAN convert module, voltage monitoring module, switchdrive and logic module, programming interface module and power module. Eachmodule collaborates together to complete the hardware support of the system.(2)Software DesignThe software is carefully designed for the compatibility with the main functionand low power. The design avoids failed update caused by data channel interference,through separating the file transmission and the ISP/IAP process, in the meantime, thesystem achieves the unification of data transmission and multi-MCU update reliablyin the condition of sharing CAN bus. This paper makes an intensive research of theHEX file format, CAN application layer protocol, checksum retransmissionmechanism, ISP process and IAP process.(3)System Verification and conclusionAccording to the requirement of the project, the function of system achieved hasbeen thoroughly tested to verify the effectiveness and the stability of the system.Finally, the thesis has made a summary about the study, pointed out the problemsin the research, and then put forward some recommendations for the further improvement.
