At present, in some industrial applications, most field controllers program should be updated remotely by using high-grade microprocessor. Although these field controllers which use high-grade microprocessor as their core have powerful functions, the cost of field controllers will be increased substantially, and due to the limitation of Internet, the mode of directly access network is not applicable to use in control field. In this article, we design a field controller program remote update system based on TCP/IP to solve two problems which business want to decrease the cost by using low-grade microprocessor as core of the field controller and the field controller could be accessed in network to transmit data remotely. The system's merits lies in: First, solve the problem of reuse of existing controllers, decrease the production cost; at the same time, remote updating control program can decrease or avoid the cost when workers maintain the devices.On the basis of the analysis of the domestic and international status of the industry remote technology, according to the business users' problems and requirements, here we offer some solutions. In this system, the network transit module which is the connection platform of remote user and field controller, the Bootloader designed for field controller which using 8 bit low-grade microprocessor as its core made by DaLian bingshan-guardian automation company, both of them solve the problems of network access, program update and data transmission. It can optimize the allocation of resources, save the cost of production. Network transit module is composed of ARM microprocessor and using open resource embedded Linux as its operating system to remotely access network and process data. At the same time, for realizing the network access of field controller, it should take advantage of mature TCP/IP application technology to establish the connection between remote user and the transit module in C/S mode. The Bootloader in field controller makes the system with measure of currency, one controller can be used in different devices.The test to each module of the system is made in the lab. The test results indicate that this system can achieve the expected functions.
