Shower becomes more and more important in people’s daily life. It can achieve the purpose of purity, and it has benefit on physical and mental health. Also, shower is a wonderful method to relieve stress and relax. Cleanliness and Comfort degree in the process of shower depend on the quality of shower nozzle which is vital. And the quality of shower nozzle has an influence on the reasonable utilize of water resource. So it is very important to test the quality of shower nozzle.Due to the low efficiency and accuracy characteristics of traditional artificial and mechanical testing method, this article proposes a new method to analyze the dynamic images of shower spray field. Many real-time dynamic images of spray field are collected firstly. Then some reasonable image processing methods are used to analyze the images. Many dynamic characteristic parameters are picked up such as flow pattern and spray angle in order to evaluate the feature of spray field.This paper analyzed the way to collect and treat with dynamic images, and then designed the image acquisition system. Removing the noises in the images was the first step by the way of subtracting background and median filter. After comparing several methods, Otsu Method was chosen to be used to automatically obtain the best threshold. But, it was found that there were some shortcomings using this method in analyzing spray field images that will loss messages. Therefore, it designed a different method that used the absolute value instead of variance to get the threshold. Experiment proved that the binarization images were better and most messages were held. With the purpose of calculating spray angle, it needed to use mathematics morphology algorithm to analyze spray field dynamic images. Expansion and erosion algorithm could make the edge of water beam smoothly that decrease the glitch and vulnerability in the binarization images. A improved way of thinning algorithm was used to obtain the intermediate line of water beam. The formula of two lines at the left and right sides was fitted by least squares method. This article used the software Visual Studio2005to achieve the displaying and treatment with spray field dynamic images. According to the relations between spray angles and flow pattern under different pressures, the research evaluated the feature of spray field.The analysis method is proved that it can deal with dynamic images and calculate spray angle, which is real-time, stable and reliable for shower nozzle spray field.
