Correlation measurement technology is a technology of non-contact measurement, is widely used in aerospace, navigation, traffic, steel, textile and paper industries, and can be used to measure real-time velocity of the solid, fluid and the gas of the movement.In this paper, a belt driven by motor is served as research object. A velocity measurement system of non-contact, good real-time and high precision was researched by organic combining the laser sensor, correlation measurement technology with DSP(Digital Signal Processor).Firstly, scheme of the laser cross-correlation velocity measurement based on DSP was proposed by reading a lot of related literatures. Research status and development trend at home and abroad of the correlation velocity measurement was introduced, and this paper introduced the principle of correlation velocity measurement and the selection of related parameters.Secondly, according to the requirements of velocity measurement system, the overall scheme of the correlation velocity measurement system was designed. It concluded designs of the hardware system and software system.Thirdly, the hardware of the correlation velocity measurement system was designed. It included the design of the laser sensor, modulation circuit, data acquisition card, DSP chip and LCD(Liquid Crystal Display) display device.Fourthly, the software of the correlation velocity measurement system was designed. It included the design of system software, operational interface and cross-correlation algorithm. The operational interface of velocity measurement system was designed and the fast cross-correlation algorithm was simulated by Labview, it verified the correctness and feasibility of velocity measurement by the fast cross-correlation algorithm.Fifthly, the data processing of cross-correlation operation was described in detail, mainly discussed the realization of the fast cross-correlation algorithm and mixed programming based on DSP. In this paper cross-correlation function operation was realized by using the fast cross-correlation algorithm on the DSP in order to ensure the real-time and precision of the correlation velocity measurement.Sixthly, FFT(Fast Fourier Transform) was realized by using assembly language on the DSP, and it was simulated on CCS(Code Composer Studio) in order to prove that it is correct and feasible to combine correlation measurement technology with DSP. At the same time, the precision of correlation velocity measurement was analyzed.Finally, full text was summarized and further research suggestions were put forward.
