With the more mature of embedded technology, wireless communication technology and a variety of digital image processing technology, video surveillance has entered the era of digitization、intelligentize and networked. A rapid increase in the input aim at the Internet network video, more and more related applications have appeared, embedded video surveillance system based on wireless network has become mainstream in area of video surveillance.This paper integrates the advantage of WLAN and3G, S3C6410embedded development board as the server side, monitor host (PC) as the client side. The server-side use a WCDMA module and a Wi-Fi module to make up multi-network for real-time transmission of video images. First of all, USB camera collect image information through V4L2interface; Secondly code up the collected images through the MFC hardware codecs within the embedded development board; Thirdly package the encoded data with the format of RTP/UDP/IP packet; Finally transfer the packet data through the appropriate network which selected by the algorithm of multi-network adaption, using multi-network adaptive switching algorithm to ensure that the system can smoothly swith to another appropriate network when the network environment changes, it can make sure the real-time and reliability of video transmission. The client-side receives the video data, then decoded and display.The tests show that the video surveillance system can switch network automatically depending on the different of network environment to ensure real-time and reliability of data transmission, and it also has a good market prospect.
