Nowadays, jewelry products consumption boom is common, and it is becoming the third largest consumer hot spot after the housing, cars in China. The volume of sales of ewelry products especially jade products in Yunnan province are the highest in the whole country. The jewelery industry is gradually becomes the dominant industries in Yunnan Province. Jewelry resource in Yunnan province is extermely rich. As part of a special mineral resources, Jewelry resource plays an important role in the economic development of Yunnan province.Up to forty kinds of gem varieties have been found in Yunnan Province so far, and most of gem varieties in the world have been discovered in Yunnan Province. In this paper, take the quartz family gem resources for example, the quartz family jewelry resources metallogenic types are complex, and the varieties are relatively complete. Quartz family jewels are widely distributed while relatively concentrated. The quartz family gems crystal can be discovered in every ore belt, the crystal deposits have been identified nearly30, Quartzite jade deposits are nearly20, all the deposits are located in12prefectures (cities) and40Counties. The quartz family gems in Yunnan Provine are mainly distributed in pegmatite type deposits in late Yanshan period and Himalayan. Some species are mainly distributed in Yunnan Province, and reserves are considerable, these species can be used as dominant minerals in Yunnan Province.In this paper, the gem resources in Yunnan Province was analysed and the recommendations about Yunnan Province gem markets were given. And we can store and manage the data of Yunnan province gems through the establishment of a database management system. This system is developed by C language from the ground, we can control and manage MDB format on the Access database through the C language called ADO. In this paper, the designing of database and management system is based on the actual data and the work demands. Considering the practical situation of the user, system operation is simple and concise. At the same time, in the design to take into account the follow-up issues, so the system has strong expansibility, so that we can write functional module according to the needs of users, or develop into the gems information systems of Yunnan Province on the basis of this system directly in the future.
