Wireless Sensor Network is a new-born modern technology network system which consists of tons of nodes. It consists of tons of sensor nodes which are in charge of processing data and which have the capability of wireless communications. WSN is a developing product of wireless technology and computer technology and network technology. With the development of sensor technology and communication technology, wirelesssensor network is developing faster and faster. Some successful application systems have already been used in military field and people’s daily life and medical fields and so on. We can see that WSN has a bright prospect and a broaden application span.In this article I will first introduce and analyze the concept and the traits of WSN in great details. Plus. I will also analyze its inside structure and working principle. Besides, current important technology and the technology difficulty and challenges we are facing now will be introduced as well. Moreover, the function and designing goal of routing protocols are introduced and analyzed in details, including it’s evaluation standards which are very vital in routing protocols design process. Routing protocols consist of many different kinds according to their differences of inside structures and working principles. In this paper, the author choose a few typical routing protocols, analyzing them and comparing and contrasting them from different points of view. LEACH(Low Energy Adaptive Clustering Hierarchy, LEACH) is a classic routing algorithm for wireless sensor network. Its merits are that it can adapt and correct itself quickly, besides it is suitable for a large span. But LEACH also has its own big flaws. For example, lifetime of network is short, energy consumption is high and so on. So I proposed another algorithm which is an improvement based on LEACH algorithm. That is called LRDA. I added moti-hop communication methods and devide the whole region into some small regions to improve the quality of algorithm. And after the flaws of SEP algorithm has been presented, I also proposed another improved algorithm MH-SEP which is based on SEP algorithm. At last, I simulated both of the improved algorithms from different standards. At the same time,I also analvzed and contrasted the results. Simulation results showed that LRDA and MH-SEP have better performance in energy consumption、network lifetime and the throughput of the network. That proves that the improved algorithms have better quality and capability.
