The Design And Implementation Of Hospital Library Management System

With the rapid development of Internet in recent years, library inventories for allindustries have witnessed constant increase, therefore, effective management of massivelibrary data has become a problem requiring urgent solution. Computer technology hasbeen applied to library information management in many industries, which has not onlyincreased the efficiency in book management and utilization but also achieved betterservices to hospital patients. First People’s Hospital of Jiujiang City is expanding in sizeand the number of doctors and patients. Reading rooms have expanded into a librarywith increasing number of books. As an industry receiving great concern, reading is notonly a means for doctors to enrich knowledge but also an important method for patientsin hospital to study and relax. How to manage the increasing number of books is aproblem for Fist People’s Hospital of Jiujiang City that needs urgent solutions.By far a great number of domestic university libraries, public libraries andprovincial key hospitals have achieved network and electronic management withdiversified services and information resources, shared information retrieval as well asreaders’ participation in joint construction. As a general hospital in Jiujiang, there is stillspace for First People’s Hospital library inventory to improve. For the purpose of furtherdevelopment, we need a system with simple user interface, convenient operation andefficient management.In line with the requirements of the hospital and based on survey and analysis,JSP-based technology is determined to be the development tool and SQL Server2000for backstage database, this system will achieve fast and efficient management on thehospital’s library information. The system mainly includes login in module, usermanagement module, inquiry module, book management module, book return module,feedback management module as well as management module. This paper coversintroduction of system development tool, system demand analysis, system design andsystem testing.
