The research of robotics involves variety of high-tech technologies. With the rapiddevelopment of robotics research, the platform of robot education has also been rapidlydeveloped at home and abroad. The educational robots are including the primary robot,intermediate assembled robot and advanced programming robot designed for specificgoals. The educational robot enables middle school students to exposure to the hightechnology, to understand and to stimulate students’ interest in the various sciences, andhelp to improve the innovative ability.With the continuous developing in the field of robotics research home and abroad,robot simulation system as a convenient research tool, has won recognition of theresearchers. It has become one of the main methods of robot research to study theperformance and characteristics of the robots. With the rapid development of robotplatform, the robot platform for education has also reached a new level at the same time.Based on assembly educational robot products, this paper has established a primaryschool teaching and contesting robot simulation platform.According to the actual robot characteristics and teaching requirements, theeducational robot simulation platform is divided into three parts: robot assembledmodules, robot programming control module and robot simulation module. This paperis to design and implement the robot simulation module. This paper uses the Java AWT(Abstract Windowing Toolkit) framework for friendly user interfaces, OpenGL for3Dgraphics, ODE (Open Dynamics Engine) for robot modeling, Motor dynamics designmethod, Sensor simulation functions, and simulation control module.The educational robot simulation platform plays an important role in roboteducation. It improves students’ enthusiasm of the educational robot simulation. It helpsstudents to be familiar with the robot. The educational robot simulation platform cansimulate real physical world with valuable and accurately feedback simulation data.
