Under the promotion of the digitalization and networking, the television broadcastcontrol system has experienced the transformation from which is broadcast by thetraditional Video Cassette Recorder (VCR) to by the hard disk. Present the developingtrend of the domestic radio and television is building the whole station network basedon the production and broadcast fusion, and introducing the high-performance videoserver from abroad as the main broadcast equipment is the general practice for domesticTV stations. However, there are big differences between the domestic and foreigntelevision broadcast. It often happens that the foreign broadcast control system isunsuitable for the broadcasting circumstance domestic TV stations. Hence, it is essentialfor developing a applicable broadcast system for the imported video server according tothe broadcasting requirement of domestic TV stations. Against this background, thepaper has designed and realized an automatic broadcast control system based on thevideo server which is the key subsystem of the whole station network with theproduction and broadcast fusion.The automatic broadcast control system based on the video server can be dividedinto three functional modules: broadcast list management, broadcast controlmanagement and broadcast monitoring between primary and standby. The distributionof work shifts from requirements analysis of each module to design and implementation,then an integrated automatic broadcast control system is developed. The main works ofthis paper are as follows:1. The design and realization of the broadcast list management. The TV broadcastis based on the broadcast list. Hence, the system has realized the function of obtainingand editing the broadcast list through adopting the web service technology which isservice-oriented architecture. Moreover, the function of checking the broadcast list isalso achieved, which is a timely reminder of the wrong orchestration in the broadcast list. It can assure the data in the broadcast list correctly before broadcasting. At the sametime, the system has implemented the function of refreshing the broadcast list everyminute during the period of broadcasting.2. The design and realization of the broadcast control management.Broadcast-control client should control the broadcast between the video server and theswitcher is error-free. The system can control the video server using the method of AMPprotocol. The broadcast-control client always polls the broadcast equipment during thebroadcasting process, and the state of the broadcast equipment is changed throughpolling mode. Hence, the program can correctly broadcast. At the same time, thecalibration mechanism is used in the background to guarantee the accuracy of theprogram broadcasting.3. The design and realization of the broadcast monitoring between primary andstandby. The system has designed a redundancy system which is composed of the videoserver and the broadcast-control client. The WMI technology is used to perform theprimary-standby monitoring as well. It has realized that the CPU utilization rate is lowerthan1%during the monitoring process, and the system can automatically switchbetween primary and standby in an emergency ensuring the safety of the broadcasting atthe extreme.The technical solution proposed in this paper has been applied to several domestictelevision stations. According to the feedback from the site, the designed system canbroadcast stably and safely for a long term and the working efficiency has beeninproved. It can meet the business needs.
