As in the era of Mobile Internet, the intelligent mobile phone has brought hugeinfluence to our lives; processing personal business by mobile phone has become atrend. Location Based Service(LBS) is becoming increasingly important in people’slives, such as the surrounding living service search, sharing tourism strategy, trafficnavigation, etc. LBS working on smart phones brings great convenience to people’slives and also provides enormous opportunities for project developers.This paper first analyzes the subject background, combined with domestic andinternational developments that Android smart phones and LBS development prospectsand advantages. Next, this paper designs the LBS service system, SmartAssiatant,which works on smart phones. System mainly contains four function modules:real-time tracking module, place alarm module, food recommendation module andoptimal route navigation module. Then we present the design of the Cell-ID aidedpositioning technology, and the A*algorithm applied in optimal navigation routingplanning. Cell-ID aided positioning technic which combined with GPS, can estimatethe users’ current location. It is energy saving, since it uses customers’ trackinformation in the past time (including Cell-ID sequence and the corresponding GPSlocation), and the Cell-ID sequence matching technic. The A*algorithm can includethe dynamic traffic information in routing planning, and make the calculation ofoptimal route more real-time and accurate.Finally, we implemented the system. Testified by several experiments, the systemcan meet the design requirements and provide personalized service to users.
