Owing to the high bandwidth, the high link security and the strong ability ofanti-electromagnetic interference, WLC (Wireless Laser Communication) system hasbecome a research hotspot in communication field. But for the mobile communication(especially in the fast movement situation), the traditional Acquisition, Pointing andTracking (APT) technology cannot meet the requirement of the communication. In this paper, in order to ensure the communication link stability in terrestrial fastmobile WLC system, a new omni-directional optical antenna is designed which worksin the rotating scan model and the multi-transceiver unit array is adopt. Being aimed attracking for the discontinuous communication, a novel beam control method based onthe error correction Kalman prediction algorithm (EC-KPA) is proposed.According to the predicted trajectory of EC-KPA algorithm, the interval time oftwo adjacent communication processes is calculated, and then the appropriatetransmission unit can be precisely switched, namely the beam switch can be realizedeffectively. Considering the random movement of the communication antennas and thenotable atmosphere effects, the comparison of the prediction accuracy betweenEC-KPA algorithm and the conventional Kalman prediction algorithm (KPA) isanalyzed theatrically and the corresponding numerical simulations are carried out. Theresults show that the prediction accuracy of EC-KPA algorithm is improved about77.6%than that of KPA in weak noise situation, and it is increased up to91.8%instrong noise situation. Meanwhile, the influence of these two algorithms’ predictionerrors on beam switch is analyzed through the simulation. It is shown that the beamcontrol method is feasible, and this optical antenna can meet the demands of the APTin fast mobile WLC.
