Research And Development On Hybird Multiple Access Technology For VHF Radio

VHF radio network is widely usedin military, industrial and civilian fields. Multipleaccess protocol is one of the key technologies in the networking of VHF radio.The main task of this paper is to build self-organizing network using handheld VHFradio. First,ahybrid multiple access protocol for integrated services is proposed based theexisting multiple access protocol,mainly for the VHF radio hardware and softwareenvironment. Timeslot dynamic reservation TDMA strategyis used to solve voice and othercyclical business, CSMA strategy for solving bursty trafficbusiness, and as a supplement802.11DCF strategy is used to solve the hidden terminal problem. Then, VHF radio MAClayer protocol is designed considering hierarchical and modularstrategy. We accomplishtheprotocolsoftware design with SDL process schedulingmechanism.Also, we test itsfeasibilitywhich includes channel utilization throughput and delayon the OMNET++simulation platform.Finally,the MAC layer protocolsoftware is tested on the VHF radiohardware platform.
