| One of the important criteria to measure a successful vocational college is whether its graduates are welcomed, which means whether there is a higher rate of employment. To increase the employment rate of the students, vocational colleges must make great efforts to cultivate and improve the comprehensive ability and employability of the students. This paper presents researches on comprehensive evaluation models based on rough sets for vocational college students. The main work and the results achieved are as following:Firstly, this paper overviews the research and application of evaluation models based on rough sets for students’ ability. A reduction algorithm based on the importance of attributes is raised, referred to as AI reduction algorithm.Secondly, by constructing two evaluation index systems of comprehensive ability and employment ability based on rough sets for vocational college students, this paper uses AI reduction algorithm to gain attribute reduction and rule extraction from the systems, so as to establish two evaluation modes of comprehensive ability and employment ability for vocational college students. Finally, this paper presents an ability evaluation system for incomplete information system. The rate of coverage and the definition of the importance of attribute are proposed. The property of the importance of attribute is proved in the theory. An attribute reduction algorithm and an algorithm of rules extraction are proposed, and the time complexity is analyzed in the theory. The efficiency of the algorithm is illustrated by an example.The evaluation models have been applied to the inspection of comprehensive ability and employment ability of students in Guangxi Vocational and Technical College. The result is consistent with the facts. Therefore, the evaluation models can be carried out comprehensive ability training and outstanding graduates screening, and can provide theoretical guidance for vocational colleges. |
