With the rapid development of the new computing model Ubiquitous Computing, RFID technique is widely used in the context-aware areas. In the context-aware system, RFID technique provides a practical way to fuse context information as it can be used as a bridge which connects the physical space and virtual information space and makes full use of context. However, if context-aware system wants to provides personalized service, a feasible solution of context processing is necessary while context is miscellaneous and redundancy. It becomes a very important research topic that how to effectively organize context information, and achieve the context knowledge sharing and reasoning, in order to provide service support for the upper application.In this thesis, first step, the key technologies about context-aware theory is analyzed which focus on context of ontology modeling and reasoning, then, propose an ontology-based context-aware middleware framework and a technical route schema on the basis of analysis of the existing context-aware computing framework, finally, design an RFID-based smart store in the basis of this framework which contains reasoning function based on ontology. The main work of this thesis are as follows:1, The relevant concepts of RFID system and context awareness are discussed via lots of literatures, mainly including the RFID middleware technology, the context modeling, formalization and reasoning mechanism.2, According to the comprehensive study of several mature context-aware system architecture, the Context-Aware Middleware Framework based Ontology(CAMFO) is proposed which can perform the reasoning mechanism based on context ontology. The framework consists of three layers:the context-aware layer, the context processing layer and the context of the service layer.3, After analyzing the comparison of several context modeling and reasoning methods, a context-aware solution is proposed which based on an ontology-based modeling, rule-based reasoning and Web control.4, One application of the smart store system is implemented according the solution presents in this thesis. We give the elaborated design process, specific content including:modeling parts of ontology individuals in the smart stores system with the tool of Protege which is a famous ontology editor, using rules engine Jena for context ontology reasoning, deploying Tomcat as context-aware server.This thesis gives a research about context-aware system based on RFID, implement a solution of context-aware system based on ontology modeling, achieves the desired purpose through some experiments.
