With ontology technology in various fields of application areincreasingly widespread, and at the same time in order to meet certain areas, with thespecific needs of the user, ontology-based vertical search engine research came out.This article is the introduction and study of the theoretical knowledge of theOntology and vertical search engine, the design concept and implementationtechniques, ontology model with the combination of vertical search engines toimprove search recall, search precision，and the last major work lies in the domainontology building and designed to achieve a simple model.Finally, through the study of the above theory, and use the Protégé4.0tocomplete the cinema domain ontology, the analysis and design of the vertical searchengine based on ontology model. The overall design is modular thinking, the verticalsearch engine is divided into relatively independent subsystem, they are informationcapture system, information preprocessing subsystem, indexing subsystem andretrieval subsystem.
