In the cold rolling process, the emulsion plays the role of lubricating and cooling, andplays an important role in the production of steel. When the emulsion concentration is toohigh, it will cause a huge waste of mineral oil; When the emulsion concentration is too low,it will seriously affect the quality of the cold-rolled steel. Therefore, it is needed to measureand control the concentration of the emulsion within a reasonable range.First of all, the thesis introduce the main measurement methods and the situation of theliquid concentration detection technology at home and abroad, the thesis researchesdetection technology based on ultrasonic velocity according to the problems in traditionalmeasure technique, utilizing the principle that ultrasonic velocity in emulsion is differentwith different concentration of emulsion, ultrasonic transducer is applied in this system.Thesis analyzes the relationship of sound velocity, concentration, temperature, and createvelocity-concentration-temperature mathematical model. Measuring the value of theemulsion concentration and the velocity when the emulsion concentration in the range of0%to11%and the temperature in the range of20°C~65°C. This mapping relationshipbetween the three, stored as an array in the microcontroller. The main project of measurement system is put forward based on the theory analysis ofthe concentration measurement. The program uses the MCU and CPLD as the core of thedetection system hardware. The designs of the ultrasonic transmitting circuits, receivingcircuit, waves zero-cross detecting circuit, temperature measurement and display circuitsare introduced in detail. The software and interfaces are designed respectively according tothe functions of micro-single-chip and CPLD,In the processing of data, using the polynomial and linear interpolation calculate theconcentration of the emulsion. Using the prototype, the concentration of the actualemulsion is measured, and the results show that the measurement accuracy andmeasurement time to meet the design requirement and the system has good stability.
