The Research And Implementation Of Drilling Fault Diagnosis Expert System

Petroleum is a kind of non-renewable resources; it has significant influence tonational economy and our lives. Because the oil drilling process is complicated anduncertainty factors often affect fault diagnosis in the process of drilling, developing adrilling fault diagnosis expert system is of great practical. From this point of view, thisdissertation focuses on the development of drilling fault diagnosis expert system. In thisthesis, we describe the development of the Knowledge Base and fault diagnosis of theexpert system.In this thesis, we first got professional knowledge of drilling fault according toprofessional literature view. And we determined the method of knowledgerepresentation, and then we construct the Knowledge Base in the SQL Server database.Based on the constructed Knowledge Base, we implement the prototype with thereasoning mechanism and knowledge maintenance by using C#programming languagein the Visual Studio environment. Finally, according to the characteristics of knowledgeof the drilling fault, we respectively developed the guiding and explaining mechanismof the drilling fault diagnosis by using Explanation by preserved context andExplanation by Trace.With tested by some strict data, our drilling fault diagnosis expert system couldcarry on the designated functions, such as fault diagnosis, guidance, explanation andmaintenance of knowledge, etc. So, this prototype is of significant applicable value.
