At present, most traditional education modes are unable to meet the socialprogress and the development of education, also cannot catch up with the changes oflearning requirements in timely manner. The development of computer networktechnology brings opportunities to solve the problems. However, based on traditionalonline learning platform of the network, the system’s internal construction andmaintenance are located within the educational institution or an enterprise, which leadsto a large number of issues, for example, it requires significant capital investment withlittle capital gains, and lack of development potential as well as staying power. Cloudcomputing introduces efficient scale mechanism, allows the construction of the onlinelearning system entrusted to suppliers, and provides a new model of learning. It canmake the suppliers and users to achieve a win-win situation: on the one hand, supplierscan take advantage of their technical superiority to build a more stable, morecomprehensive and secure online learning platform. Meanwhile, suppliers charge feesto have funds return. On the other hand, the users can get away from the constructionand maintenance of the system, and focus on the quality of teaching and management.In this mode, the construction of cloud computing is separated from its users througheconomic leverage effect. Sufficient spare and maintenance funds are released to buildthe online learning system. This mode makes online learning system operating in avirtuous circle. Therefore, the emergence of cloud computing provides a new conceptfor the further development of online learning system.This thesis describes the meaning and characteristics of the cloud operatingsystem, and investigated the cloud operating system and development status of thenetwork learning platform. Based on the analysis of actual impacts on the networklearning platform from cloud computing, a flexible and feature-rich learning platformis set up. Research and analysis are conducted on functional modules, software architecture and technology. The platform also provides personalized learning servicesto help users improving learning skills rapidly.
