In recent years, with the steady growth of the global economy, the speedy expanding ofthe Internet, as well as the booming development of the e-commerce industry, the B2Cwebsite become a more and more important channel for corporate in product selling. Anoutstanding B2C website interface design can not only bring comfort and delight to the users,but also improve the return on investment of the corporate, and enhance their marketcompetitiveness. Therefore, the research on theory and practice of B2C website interfacedesign continue to expand. With the UCD thinking become generally accepted in the designcommunity, the web interface design industry pays more and more attention to web page’susability and users’ emotional appeal, researching of users’ potential becomes a significantmethod.The topic of this thesis is users’ potential demand for B2C website interface design, andthe key points are the acquirement of users’ potential demands and it’s applying in B2Cwebsite interface design. Based on the theoretical review of website interface design and thepotential demand, the thesis did in-depth analysis for the user’s demands for B2C websiteinterface design. Then the thesis analyzed users’ psychology in visiting B2C website,including cognitive and emotional process. On this basis, research clarified the basic demandsof the user B2C website as well as the levels of the demands, and explored the value of userdemands in B2C web interface design, including explicit demand for design-oriented value,the potential demand increase usability value. In the analysis of users’ potential demands’acquirement, the thesis defined the key points of the acquirement’s process, and thencombined with specific methods to explain how to acquire them, and raised an emotionanalysis methods based on KANO model theory. And then with the purpose of the applying ofusers’ potential demands in designing, the thesis raised8design principles for meeting theusers’ potential demands in B2C website interface design in the three levels of structuredesign, interaction design, and visual design. Finally, through specific design practices, thethesis verified the acquirement process and applying process of users’ potential demands forB2C website interface design.Based on the UCD ideological, the thesis used theoretical analyzing, user researchingand practice verification methods, carried out meticulous research on user’s potentialdemands’ for B2C website interface design, defined the process of its acquirement and theprinciple of its application, provided some reference value to B2C website designers.
