With the constant increase in the popularity of the Internet today,“micro”has becomeone of the Internet Age’s pronouns, and many things begin to turn into minitype, a fewwords of blog is called “micro-blog”, a few lines of novel is called “micro-fiction”, afew minutes of movie is called “micro-film” and so on. Since the concept ofmicro-film was put forth, it has been the concern of all walks of life, many well-knowenterprises even take the micro-film as a part of the overall marketing strategy. Thispaper seeks to unscramble the cause, the classifications, the mode of transmission, thecommunication process and the trends of the micro-film from the view ofcommunication studies.The first chapter discusses the research background and value of the topic,reviews the interrelated academic studies, summarizes the existing research, describesthe research ideas and methods of this paper, and proposes the innovations.The second part of this paper makes an overview on the micro-film. Firstly,define the concept of the micro-flim, then expound the background of the micro-filmfrom four aspects, at last, classify the micro-film.According to the related communication theory, the third part proposes the modeof transmission about micro-film on the basis of a brief analysis in the constituentelements of the micro-film’ s spread, and explains the sigmificance of this mode oftransmission.The fourth chapter conducts a detailed analysis of the spread process of themicro-film combined with specific cases, put forward the appropriate communicationstrategies from the subjects, dissemination of content, communication channels,communication objects and communication results.The thesis of the fifth chapter focuses on future of the micro-film, generalizes theexisting problems of the micro-film’s spread, and makes several suggestions for thefuture direction of the micro-film.At the end of this paper, the author summarizes the entire course of the study toprovide a useful reference for the development of the micro-film.
