Modern wireless communication technology plays an increasingly important role in the social life. As a key part of this technology, the antenna has been innovated and developed consistently. Now the handheld and portable wireless devices are increasingly welcomed by consumers, and the size of the wireless products has become smaller, so the size of the antenna must be reduced. The technology which allows the antenna to be smaller, and can be fit in lower frequency of application development is the miniaturization printed antenna technology. It is used simply and widely during the development of modern printed circuit, because of the cheap cost of this small processing technology. This paper describes the various small printed antennas technologies, designs a variety of practical small antennas and describes their performance through simulation and experimental results to make the comparisons and summaries, and a variety of crafts and designs. The content includes the following:The first part describes the concepts and the developing history of the printed antenna, and then describes the status of the process of miniaturization printed antenna from various process development courses, followed by several application fields of small printed antenna. This part also describes the importance of the model simulation in antenna design, as well as an important position in the new small printed antenna design. The second part describes micro strip ceramic antenna applications and processes, highlights debugging process and the principle of the design of microstrip circular polarization ceramic antenna。The application of this part includes GPS satellite positioning antennas. It also introduces some technical essentials of the coexistence of multi-antenna in the handset. Finally, it describes two CMMB antenna projects, includes explanations of the role played by the ceramic material and a digital circuit which can change the frequency of the antenna in the antenna design. The third part presents the research and application of RFID miniaturization printed antenna. This part includes radio frequency identification tag antenna and transceiver antennas in RFID projects. This part describes a variety of ceramic micro strip circularly polarized UHF tag designs and production data;2.45G ceramic circularly polarized antenna design process and the results of this double-feeding antenna. The last part, introduces the new idea of circular polarization in antenna design named "omnidirectional polarization", describes the concept and significance of omnidirectional polarization of wireless applications, and predicts the future applications made of more advanced production technology antenna for our lives.
