In recent years there are a large and growing number of elevators, and the elevator agingproblem is more and more serious, so the elevator failures occur frequently. However because ofsome defects the existing elevator remote monitoring system has not been widely used, socurrently it relies mainly on the trapped men and security guard to find the failure of the elevator.The main defects of the elevator remote monitoring system include: different types of elevatoradopted different standards such as using different methods of communication, differenthardware interface. The system is expensive and only can be used by the particular elevator.According to these, in this paper, the primary goal was to develop a monitoring system thatcan be used by all the elevators. Based on the Internet of Things Technology such as ZigBee,GPRS and RFID, this paper designed a remote real-time monitoring system which is composedof independent sensors, terminal collection, GPRS transmission network and the monitoringcenter. This system was defined as a monitoring system, it only collected alarm information anddid not control the elevator. Using the independent sensors to collect fault information, it couldbe used by all the elevators.The data collected by the sensors were transmitted to the elevator room terminal through theZigBee module. Elevator room terminal collected the speed signals and RFID maintenanceinformations, then all the data were transmitted to the monitoring center through the GPRSmodule. Finally, using VB language, this paper designed the monitoring center’s PC interface. Itrealized these functions such as real-time display of the state, failure information managementand maintenance information management.Using ZigBee wireless network could not only solve the problems of wiring difficult, butalso realize the function that using one GPRS module could serve all the elevators in a building.The RFID module was conducive to the government to acquire and monitor the conditions ofelevator security checks and maintenance. The design was reasonable and it provided a newtechnical support for elevator safety regulation.Through multiple debugging of hardware and software, each part of the system could worknormally. Zigbee module could communicate normally; the monitoring center could receive anddisplay the real-time status of the elevator; voice calm system could play different audio signalsaccording to different instructions. The system had achieved the desired research purposes.
