As the rapid development of modern industry, and in the process of industrialproduction(especially in the process of steel and wire), according to the tranditionalmeasure tools, the requirement for dimension measurement has produced many higherdemands. The traditional size measuring using measuring tools, such as ruler, verniercaliper and spiral micrometer gauge. But, modern industry requires non-contact, highprecision measurement. The traditional measurement tools can’t meet theserequirements. The ARM processor(STM32F103) was used as the main processor in thispaper to achieve the design of CCD online diameter measurement system. In the system,USB communication was taken as the communication method to communicate withupper machine, with the aid of CCD image sensor, and combined with the necessaryoptical system, and by identifying the size of object imaging CCD image sensor, youcan measure the size of the object according to the magnification of the optical system,to achieve the goal of non-contact and high precision and automatic measurement ofworkpiece diameter in industrial production. According to the traditional serialcommunication, the communication rate of USB communication mode used in thissystem was greatly improved. The main work of this paper is as follows:1. Design a diameter measurement system based on linear CCD image sensordevice. In the system, TCD1206was used as the CCD image sensor. Design the lightpath, and choose appropriate optical devices to construct the light path.2. According to the requirement of CCD image sensor, utilize the internal timer ofARM processor to implement the CCD driving.3. Use AD8031and low-pass filter electric circuit for CCD output signaldifferential amplifier and low-pass filter respectively, and adopts MAX153chip for A/Dconversion, utilize the internal SRAM of ARM processor storage the transformationresults.4. Careful study the USB bus communication principle, utilize the internal USBfunction of ARM processor to develop USB data transmission module, and transmit theCCD video data after A/D conversion to upper machine through USB bus.5. Research the USB driver development plan and the PC software development,and select Libusb-win32as the USB driver development plan. Select Qt libraries todevelop GUI interface, using OpenCV image processing library for CCD image signal processing.6. The thesis has carried on the two parts of hardware and software development,implement the design of CCD driving timing and USB data transmission, processed thePC application program design and development, the function of application programincluding the linear CCD image display and the CCD image signal processing.
