At present, the operational amplifier is the most widely used analog integrated circuit. With the continuous development of semiconductor technology, its creation has several decades of history. In the past few decades, the semiconductor manufacturing process continues to develop, and the design level is more and more high, there are many kinds of operational amplifier. So the paper first introduced the research status and development trends of operational amplifier, and then discussed the operational amplifier classification and process selection. Introduced three basic manufacturing process:Bipolar, CMOS and BICMOS. The paper gives the design results of a constant transconductance rail-to-rail operational amplifier with common mode rejection. This amplifier used0.18um CMOS process at1.8V supply voltage. This kind of amplifier will be widely adopted in SOC design.The integrated circuit layout design is considered to be the essential design link in integrated circuit manufacturing. It is not only related to the function of integrated circuit, but also greatly affect the performance of integrated circuit, the cost and the power consumption, so in the paper the integrated circuit layout design are discussed in detail. At last the paper introduced the principle of latch-up effect, and introduced the method of preventing the latch up separately from the technology and layout design.
