It has been40years since the intelligent control method is put forward. In thedevelopment process of the research, a lot of researchers innovate and explore avariety of suitable control methods for different objects based on their actualsituations. These methods are appropriate for different systems and have their specialfeatures and their own complexities. When the structure or the state of the actualcontrolled system changes, the control method needs to be changed or adjustedaccordingly. Therefore, it still makes sense that developing new adaptive intelligentcontrol methods based on the actual control problems. Research of the controlmethods needs the establishment of mathematical models, also the intelligent controlmethods need an intelligent method of modeling.The content of the subject is the research of control methods for different objectsin order to improve the performances of the controlled systems. The Golden-sectioncontrol algorithm based on the characteristic model is applied to the helicopter modelwith three dof and the superiority of the algorithm is verified. Based on the simulatedautomatic beer production process, the intelligent control system is designed, and thevalidity and practicability of the algorithm is verified. The main research workincludes the following several aspects.Firstly, the generation and development of the intelligent control method based onthe characteristic model is discussed. And the concept of the characteristic model andthe intelligent control method based on the characteristic model are introduced,including the linear quadratic optimum controller based on the characteristic modeland the Golden-section controller based on the characteristic model.Secondly, the intelligent control system is designed for the helicopter model withthree dof using the intelligent control method based on the characteristic model. At thesame time, the comparative experiment of the linear quadratic optimum controller andthe Golden-section controller is performed. The control performance indexes show thesuperiority of the Golden-section control algorithm.Thirdly, the modeling for the two-tank system in beer fermentation process isstudied, and the corresponding steps to obtain the random model by inputting pseudorandom signal to the system are described. And then the characteristic model is established to design the Golden-section controller.Finally, PLC controller and MCGS configuration software are adopted in thecontrol system to build a monitoring system for the beer production line. Based on themonitoring system, the conventional PID controller, the intelligent PI controller andthe Golden-section controller based on the characteristic model are designed for thetwo-tank system in beer fermentation process. The experimental results show that theGolden-section controller based on the characteristic model is simpler in structure andmore convenient in adjustment, also it can guarantee the system has smaller overshootand better rapidity. Especially, it has good control effects for a class of second ordersystems with.unknown parameters.
