During the internship in Lenovo, I participated in the user research ofmulti-screen interactive smart TV development, found that the development of currentmulti-screen interactive platform was influenced by two opposite views fromdeveloper and marketer, so that the platform departure from the original intention ofthe user and lack of a consistent user experience. This article launched a user study ofusing multi-screen interactive platform with the background of Network convergence, established a user role of multi screen interactive platform by using qualitative andquantitative research methods, implemented the process of user needs extraction andclassification base on Grounded theory and Kano model, improved the multi-screeninteractive platform user research system and gave a substantial basis for designaccording above method. The innovation of this study is applied the mainlyqualitative research methods in sociology-grounded theory to the study of users ofthe product development process, validate and extract user needs by Kano model. Itobtained the following results:1. Establish user roles based on the qualitative and quantitative analysis. Qualitativeanalysis of user interview, summarized five user roles, and defined three of themas the primary role, as the guidance of data collection and user demand formining work.2. Analysis of user properties and behavioral data of the multi-screen interactiveplatform to establish the user requirements preliminary. Through surveys, userinterviews, home trial to collect the basic properties and behavior of the user data, analyzed and summarized by Grounded Theory, come to a user requirement list.3. Defined the multi-screen interactive platform final function and validated the listof user requirements which derived from grounded theory by using the Kanomodel. Extract the charm of attributes and linear properties to classify the level ofuser needs.4. Exploration based on the final function defined interaction design. Combinedwith the fundamental characteristics of user roles and multi-screen interactivefunctionality to determine the terminal depended on and different level of demand for products. Implement the design of conceptual model, layout and prototype foreach terminal in the multi-screen interactive platform.
