The Magnetorheological(MR) damper has many merits, such as low power consumption,wide dynamic range, continuously controllable resistance, fast response and so on, so they canbe widely applied to many vibration control fields. But MR damper is a new kind of shockabsorption devices and it has been developed for only about ten years, lots of researches on itscontrollability and the systems based on MR dampers should be further studied.In this article, the main works are listed as follows:(1)The research status of the MRdamper and its controller at home and abroad are summarized.(2)The mechanical model ofmagnetorheological damping device is analyzed, as well as the relationship between the controlcurrent and damping force.(3) Based on the acceleration and displacement responsesrespectively, the feedback control system is designed by using the microcontroller is as thehardware core and ICCAVR as its developing tool. At the same time, the hardware circuit ofmicrocomputer control system and its realization process is introduced in detail. The hardwarecircuit is consist of the microcomputer interface circuit, acceleration acquisition circuit, positionsensor device signal adjustment circuit, pre-amplification circuit, A/D transformation circuit,data storage circuit, low-pass filter circuit, strong and weak electric isolation circuit andvoltage-controlled current circuit. The control system’s static and dynamic experiment denotethat the control system can accurately produce the controller current and store the importantparameters of system according to the collected signal of acceleration and displacement.(4)The dynamic simulation diagram of the structure with the MR damper is built by usingSimulink. Especially in the diagram, the function of the controller is realized by using fuzzycontrol algorithm and other control circuit is built by using Simcape.
