The virtual plant formed by the intersection of many disciplines such as botany,agronomy, ecology, computer graphics is a very hot research topic in a recent years. Alongwith the continuous development and improvement of the virtual plant research, people notonly require to build and simulate the overall geometry model of the plant, but also began tostudy the details of the plant organs and realistic simulation. Plant leaves as one of the mostimportant organs of the plant, is undoubtedly the focus of the study.Based on the knowledge of plant morphology, plant leaves shape and veins structure canbe used as an important criterion to determine the types of plants. Descript three importantcharacteristics of the leaf shape is leaf tip, leaf base and leaf margin; Veins structure iscomplex but with certain rules, veins generally exhibit hierarchy, and divided into the mainveins, lateral veins,three and more than small viens, the three and more than small viens ofmost plants showed network structure.This paper uses a method for plant leaf visualization mode based on deformation, todeformation the rectangular parametric equations. Specific visual modeling studies on thedescription three characteristics of the typical shape, leaf tip, leaf base and leaf margin, withdetailed descriptions of the blade shape visualization modeling and three-dimensional shapeof the specific process. The method is simple, and easy to control.The visualization mode for plant viens, included visualization mode for mainly andsecondary veins, and visualization mode for three and above small viens. According to thefeature that mainly and secondary veins is the skeletal structure of the leaf, this paper usedeformation, deformation of the cone equation, by rotating and moving the deformation cone,completed of the first, second veins visualization mode, this method is good for the simulationof the effect of the leaf vein skeleton. For the complex of the three and more than smallvenation networks, based on recursive thought, call transformation and designed recursivespanning tree graphics functions, by the method of random number to find a growing point to random growth, using the Z-buffer labeling method to determine the scope of its growth,complete the visual modeling of complex three and more than venation networks. The methodcan better simulate three and more than venation networks grow randomly. Use of coordinatetransformation, fuse the viens and leaf to three-dimensional, complete the visual modeling ofthree-dimensional realism leaves.Finally, do experimental verification to several plants veins model. Through the researchof the subject, we can explore the mysteries of nature plant growth, there are certain guidingsignificance for the study of the laws of plant growth.
