Mobile internet has become one of the areas with most rapid development, mostbroad market potential and most most attractive prospects in recent years. LocationBased Service (LBS) is any information, entertainment or social media service that isavailable on a mobile device, and make use of geographical position under the supportof Geograhic Information System (GIS). Position is determined by GPS, A-GPS, orWi-Fi/cell tower triangulation. LBS can be combined with the mobile internet featuresto provide users with efficient, convenient and various services at any time andanywhere, which help meet more and more user demands for mobile applications, aswell as providing a new business model for the development of the mobile Internet.Android OS is an open source operating system based on Linux kernel forportable devices, which was first released by Google in2007. Data of July2012showthat Android has occupied59%of the global smartphone operating system marketshare. The development of smartphone OS represented by Android and thetechnology of mobile phone chips makes it possible to have a wide spread of LBSapplications on the mobile internet.Based on the above social, scientific and technological development background,the work of this article is mainly about the design and implementation of a locationmonitoring and querrying system according to the demands of China Mobile GroupTianjin Co.’s business service named Qinqingtong.The system architecture and features of the Android OS are briefly introduced.Detailed study and discussion about Android application developing environmentsand its basic components are given. Outline design of the system architecture, moduledivision, and logical flow is done according to the analysis of Location monitoringand querying system functional requirements. Based on the outline design, detaileddesign and coding works are done for both the monitoring wideget and queryingclient. Final completion of the system requirements enables users to get the location,moving track, area alarm and any other information of the monitored device, whichmeets the increasingly diverse demands for the intelligent mobile applications.
