Infrared thermal imager is an apparatus which can convert invisible infrared radiation into avisible image via an infrared detector. The detector can transform the temperature distribution onan object surface to colorful display by a visible layered image. As it is not impacted by theexternal light intensity, and is able to detect objects within thermal imaging systems, the thermalimager is widely applied in military, medical, police, fire services, archeology, transport,agriculture, and other fields.In practice, the DSP chip is the center to process the information, the power supply systemdirectly determines whether the DSP work in a manner of high performance and low powerconsumption, therefore, a stable and reliable power supply system is crucial. A lot of infraredimaging equipments are portable, battery is needed, so, energy saving is becoming increasinglyimportant. The infrared thermal imager in our project usually works outdoor. It is necessary forus to design a suitable power supply system.The project designed an uninterrupted power supply system for infrared thermal imagingsystem based on DM642. It could work on solar energy as the energy supply, do not need toupdate the battery or consume other forms of energy. When sufficient sunlight during the day, thephotovoltaic panels provides power to the DSP chip at the same time to charge the battery; whenlight is low or at night, the battery automatically switches to supply the power for DM642. Themain contents of the study are as below:1) Design a basic power supply circuit of the imaging system based on fully understandingon TPS54350chip and SwitcherPro software, choose the most appropriate type of componentsthe system required, and prove theoretically that it is feasible by circuit simulation.2) Design the switching circuit based on LT1301, monitoring, resetting and protectingtheoretically proves the feasibility by simulation.3) Design the PCB schematic circuit of basic power supply and switching.4) Produce the circuit board of power supply in the system. Weld all the electroniccomponents after proofing of the board by PCB vender.5) Optimize the low-power organization in DSP software system.
