The Application Research Of Broadband IP Metropolitan Area Networks

With the era of knowledge-based economy, the implementation of the strategy of UNESCO and rejuvenating the country, the transmission of higher education from elite to mass conversion, and college enrollment demand and local economic development needs of the campus expansion, the construction of University City has become the choice of many Local governments. University City building has promoted inter-universities to share a variety of physical material and intangible cultural resources, to reduce duplication of construction, and to save a lot of manpower, material and financial resources. The construction and application of broadband IP metropolitan area network has been paid with the more attention.Changzhou Science and Education City is created by Changzhou government. In this area the six universities and the Management Committee District Park have constructed their own LAN and has multiple export accesses to the Internet via ISP. Resource sharing among then can only be conducted via Internet. The efficiency is not high, the security cannot be guaranteed, and the sharing of information resources and applications has been great limited. Therefore building a stable, efficient and secure IP MAN through the fiber optic interconnection between universities and parks has become the urgent need of the Changzhou Science and Education City.For the application needs of Changzhou Science and Education City, this thesis studies the application technology of Broadband IP MAN based on the need of the Changzhou Science and Education City. This thesis proposed the overall plan for Changzhou Science and Education City, describes the network address, routing mechanism, the MPLS VPN, multicast, IPV6for MAN and QoS, meanwhile the security of MAN is discussed. The network security policy of MAN for equipment security, management of system security, business security and end-user security is showed also in this thesis.
