Correlation Of Social Media And College Students' Political Socialization

From the micro level political socialization will affect the individual’s future anddestiny. The degree of political socialization of individuals from a macro perspectivewill affect the level of country’s political development and social development’sdirection. In the era of new media, social media has played a big role in the networkcorruption, electoral and other political life, and it is also the major platform forstudents to access political information and do political communication, which is veryimportant for college students`political socialization. This paper use the social roletheory, civic identity theory to deduct the intermediate variable political identity, andthe relationship between social media and students’ political socialization, then proposethe corresponding hypothesis and theoretical Model. The study test the hypothesis andmodel using data obtained by sampling. Finally, it put up with three suggestions, whichare based on the results that obtain from analyzing the data, to make social media domore contribution to college students`political socialization.
