In recent years, with the rapid development of economy and the increasing of the comprehensive national strength, learning Chinese is becoming more an more popular in the world. Among these learners, children is a special and important group. They are the tie and bridge to connect the future, and they a the potential power to bring Chinese language and culture to people, so we should attach importance to children foreign language education,In foreign language teaching theory, people think stimulating students’ interest is very important in learning, and suggest that we should make students to learn a a foreign language in a relaxed and happy atmosphere. This theory has be appreciated in the education career of teaching Chinese as a foreign language. This thesis is basis on the this background, and combined with the author’s experience of teaching Chinese in an elementary school in South Korea, from the aspects of teachers, teaching materials and teaching methods to elaborated how to arouse the interest of foreign students to learn Chinese, and summarizes some applicable teaching methods in South Korean elementary schools. The aim of this thesis is to pointe out the direction of teaching Chinese in the future, finally to achieve the fundamental goal of spreading Chinese culture.
