Study On The Countermeasures Of Liaoning Province To Deal With The Challenge Of The Aging Of The Population

Aging of population affects all aspects of economic and social development, which is one of main factors that restrict the economic development of our country’s future. Liaoning Province is also facing the problem of population aging, this will have a very significant effect on employment, pension and medical security work.This study uses life-cycle theory, the theory of social justice, the demographic transition theory as the basis, which gives the related concept of the aging of population from the theoretical upper bound, Aging of population is a process that the elderly population in the total population increases gradually, population aging is the inevitable product of social development. Currently, the status of the aging population in Liaoning Province is worrying, the traditional family pension challenges, total pension expenditure growing wider. Population structure changes in Liaoning province profoundly affect the development of economy and society, which have a profound influence on the Liaoning Urbanization, Well-off Society Building, the social culture and so on. Therefore, improving the social security system of the elderly and developing the aging industry are major plans to solve these problems.This paper is divided into six parts. Chapter I clarifies the research background, purpose and significance of this study, carries out an overview of domestic and international researches on the issue of aging of population, introduces the content and methods of researches. Chapter II discusses the concept and theoretical basis for aging of population, it defines the related concepts of aging of population, and then analyzes its theoretical basis, discusses the life-cycle theory, equitable theory of social and demographic transition theory, which are viewed as theoretical foundation of analyzing the aging of population. Chapter III briefly describes the characteristics and trend of population aging in Liaoning Province, deeply analyzes the problems brought by the aging of population, and points out reasons of the problems and the impact on social and economic development in Liaoning Province. Chapter IV introduces the countermeasures of other domestic provinces and cities to cope with the challenges of population aging, analyzes the successful experience of these provinces and cities to cope with the challenges of population aging, finally points out enlightenment to Liaoning Province. Chapter V based on the above analysis and multiple angles, it put forwards some countermeasures and suggestions for Liaoning Province to solve the problem of population aging combined with the requirements of the times.
