At present there are a large number of students with learning difficulties in the senior middle school, and how to carry out education and management effectively has been a very difficult problem faced by high school teachers. In the current educational environment where scores count most, high school teachers pay little attention to the students with learning difficulties with poor intervention effect. But because of the problems caused by the large number of them, the transformation of students with learning disabilities has become problem that teachers cannot evade. Since Samuel Kirk proposed Learning Disability as a term to define the children who performed poorly at school, researchers have attached great importance to the phenomenon and never ceased exploring the causes of learning difficulty. The researchers at home and abroad define and classify those students with learning difficulty from different angles, on which are base its experience and solutions. However, some of them are not in accord with the present situation of students with learning difficulty in our country and they seldom approach the learning difficulty of senior high school students.On the basis of comprehending the principles of the new curriculum standard and striving to grasp the essence of the existing related theories, the thesis investigates the concrete conditions of Senior2students with learning difficulty. Through questionnaire and interviews, the thesis gains access to the troubles and puzzles that students encounter in their English learning, when fully considering the present situation of the local school. In the thesis, effective measures to transform the students with learning difficulty are put forward before analyzing factors that contribute to their learning difficulty, aiming to facilitate the task of transformation under the collaboration of teachers, students and their family members.By analyzing the results of questionnaires and interviews, the leading causes that result in learning difficulties are listed as follows:(1) the individual’s factors. The students were poorly prepared before, and at present they don’t work hard and commonly show low interest in English learning. Besides, with few scientific study habits, their learning initiative, self-control and adaptability to the new environment and is weak;(2) the school’s factors. There exist huge differences between junior and senior high school learning. However, the school can’t prepare students for it. What’s worse, it fails in providing favorable studying atmosphere;(3) the teachers’ factors. When designing the teaching process and teaching schedule, the teachers seldom take the needs of students with learning difficulty into consideration.(4) the family factors. Parents seldom have the opportunity to have a conversation with their child in a pleasant atmosphere. The economic situations of the family and the relationship between family members also have great influence on children’s learning. Based on the causes mentioned above, the corresponding transformation strategies are proposed, and put into practice in the period of the study, with following conclusions drawn as follows:(1) the efforts of students is the key;(2) the teachers act an important driving force;(3) the family and the school should create a good external conditions for students.
