| In recent years, children’s nutrition and living environment was greatly enhanced, thus the physical development of our children had also advanced. Children step into youth segment from the higher grades in primary school. However, since "sex" in our country has always been a "taboo" topic and the situation of sex education in schools is not so optimistic, repression and curiosity of new generation children for "sex" is common. The lack of necessary sex education for children, mixed with large amounts of diverse information, not only offered chances for the criminals, but also gave rise to the adolescent sexual crime rate continuing to rise. Thus, sex education has a great significance in primary schools. Sex education is not only able to teach students from a positive perspective towards sex to help them get rid of the disgust and depression on the "nature" of sex which had existed long in Chinese society, but also allows children to learn how to protect themselves, and to avoid sexual assault.For all these reasons above, the author carried out an investigation for HongShan District "A" elementary school. Through the investigation, we can understand current sex education situation in primary schools today, as well as inducing the plights, countermeasures and suggestions of sex education in primary schools. Through the study we found that the plights of sex education in primary schools mainly include:parents are unaware of the need for primary school sex education and they also lack of education ideas and methods; Students’ lack of sexual knowledge, their youth are full of confusion and annoyance, but no comfort; Teachers’ sex education ideas are old and reserved, they tend to cope with sex education teaching tasks hastily; Schools are not paying enough attention to sex education, and are short of resources and materials.Aiming at these difficulties, the author put forward the following countermeasures. Firstly, schools should pay enough attention to sex education:clarify the implementation of goals of sex education in the higher grades in primary schools, and accordingly design proper course content; schools should perfect the corresponding resources, improve teachers’ professional skills for sex education, to strengthen the construction of curriculum implementation and supervision system, and to ensure the quality of sexual education implementation. Secondly, teachers ought to change their education teaching methods, attach much importance to the combination of classroom teaching and non-classroom education, and let students play a main role in sex education. Thirdly, students should master sexual knowledge to a scientific degree, actively participate in out-of-class sex education groups and community activities, to cultivate a normal and ready-to-ask-for-help attitude. Finally, parents should improve their confidence for the "joint" form of sex education between families and primary schools, helping to form an atmosphere which primary schools, families, and the society can cooperate and interact smoothly and freely; Parents should pay more attention to sexual behaviors and psychological activities of their children, and communicate with the head teachers in time, to discuss education countermeasures; Teachers also need enough patience for changing the attitude and improving the knowledge levels of parents. |
