Abstract/Summary:
As an important part of sports culture, sports celebrity is a social and historicalexistence, always closely linked with the special background of the times and timesenvironment. Since the founding of new China, the value of sports celebrities hasexperienced different periods of reflecting and understanding, with the continuousdevelopment of China’s political economy. From the hero in new China to the idol in newcentury, every sports celebrity is explaining the change of social culture. Through it, wecan know what sport figures represent in the different historical period. Through cardinghow media construct sports celebrities, explore the propagation law of sports news media,and help us understanding of the sports culture under the particular era.This article mainly takes the longitudinal research angle. According to the time order,the article is divided into four stages, each stage follows from macro to micro. First is anoverview of each period of sports figures reports, analysis the media how to construct thesports celebrity image, to find the social cultural meaning by the reports. Secondly, selecta representative sports figure in every stage, for deeper discussion, explore the deepingmeaning behind the report, aim to understand the different background of sports culture.
