A Research On Intervention Of Case Work In "Shidu" Family

With the development of economy and society, more and more risks are faced insocial life. There is a new noun named “shidu” family appears in recent years. Thesimple definition of “shidu” family is that parents lost their only child because ofdisease or accident and haven’t adopted or give birth to another child. Since theimplementation of family planning policy, which made great contribution to thecontrol of the rapid growth of the population in China, for30years, our society sharesthe benefits of this policy. But there is a series of side effect, including the rise of“shidu” family. The single-child family contributes to the development of ourcountry, but the parents of “shidu” family who lost their only child at middle agesuffer from the predicament of spirit and economy. Because of the lost child, aharmonious family lost the hope and power of living and the parents lost spiritualsupport, which make the family fall into predicament.。Some parents of the “shidu”family are able to give birth to another child in order to make up the lack of spirit,while some other cannot have child because of the age and physiology. At present,with the increasing reveal and media report of “shidu” family, the society starts to payclose attention to the “shidu” family.In this paper, from the perspective of social work theory, the basic concept andpurpose follow social work, selected a typical "family" C in the P community, andmake full use of helping skills and case work, helping to carry out the C family.Firstly,the concept of "the family" were defined, and combined with the theory of socialwork carries on the elaboration to the "family", then elaborates "shidu" encountered inlife, economic, psychological and other aspects of the problems and needs, andintroduced the specific process of case work in the C family. Finally, to reflect thewhole process of helping the project activities, evaluation of the achievements and thechange, countermeasures and measures put forward effective help "shidu". This paper is involved in the exploratory study "family" of case work, hope to be able to providea little reference to help "shidu".
