A Brief Study On Chinese Elementary Music Education Under The Idea Of Education For International Understanding

As the development of international social politics, economics, and culture, the idea ofeducation for international understanding has been affecting every aspects of internationalmusic education since1940s.Elementary music education is the foundation of national musiceducation, it is a significant method to develop the national consciousness of globalizationand cultural education concept of tolerance, multi-element, and communication to employ theidea of education for international understanding to Chinese elementary music education.When discussing international understanding education and its development process, theauthor investigates the production of theory, the cultural and historical background of theresearch and relevant connotations through a large number of literatures. Besides, the authormakes a detailed study on the features of international understanding education of differenttimes and its important status in present international music education.When investigating and analyzing Chinese elementary music education under the conceptof education for international understanding, the author explained from several aspects anddimensions of curriculum standards, textbooks, teaching process, curriculum evaluationsystem and music teachers’ research.Nowadays, the world is becoming more and more polybasic and open, the development ofISME since its foundation in1953suggests that the musical culture concept and system in theidea of education for international understanding should be a basic cultural quality hold byevery“villager in global village”.Therefore, it is of great importance for the reformation andtransition of Chinese elementary music education to discuss it under the idea of education forinternational understanding.
