| Calculating simply with chemical equations is an important course in middle school chemistry. Most researchers studied on calculation methods and techniques from the factors on teachers, while few worked on the learning conditions from students. It has a positive significance to enhance the teaching of middle school chemistry and the learning level of knowledge. Study on calculation of chemical equation has always been the focus of the chemistry teachers. In This paper, it had been discussed that the learning conditions and the basic principle of calculation with chemical equations. Our studies have positive influence on the development of chemistry teaching theory and the reform in teaching of middle school chemistry teachers.In this paper, utilizing the theories of learning chemistry and investigating the reasons why it is so difficult for ninth-grade students to learn the calculation with chemical equations have been done. Based on the studies mentioned above, the research had analyzed the influencing factors on students with learning disabilities. The influencing factors were as follows:(1) Students were usually confused with some concepts when studying molecules, atomics, chemical formulas and chemical concepts, which brings some troubles to students’study.(2) The chemical equation was incorrectly written.(3) Students had no good analysis and problem solving skills.(4) Students could not make use of the method of proportional computation to solve the problem of stoichiometric calculation, which led to mathematics disability. To solve these problems of learning disabilities, our studies designed a series of learning conditions. The conditions were as follows:(1) Students strengthened the understanding of the concepts such as molecules, atomics, chemical formulas and chemical concepts.(2) Develop the students’abilities of the calculation of element’s relative atomic mass and chemical equations.(3) Students’abilities to absorb and retain knowledge of chemical equations and its meaning should be enhanced.(4) Students should enhance abilities to analyze and solve the problems of stoichiometric calculation.In this paper, with the study of the learning conditions of calculating with chemical equations, the influences of the conditions on students’ learning have been investigated. The results showed that the conditions on students’learning had a significant statistical difference. Based on the studies mentioned above, the influencing factors of the conditions on students’learning were as follows:(1) Briefly, it meant acquiring a good knowledge of atoms, molecules, chemical formulas and their application conditions; therefore students could have a sufficient mastery of the calculation of chemical equation to learn chemistry well. (2) Understanding of various quality relationships in chemical equations, students could enhance abilities to analyze and solve the problem of stoichiometric calculation.(3) Enhancing abilities to absorb and retain knowledge of chemical equations and their meanings, students could effectively improve abilities to analyze and solve the problem of stoichiometric calculation.(4) Improving abilities to analyze and solve the problems of scale computing, students could significantly enhance abilities to analyze and solve the problem of stoichiometric calculation. |
